So the BBC have lost out to Sky for coverage of The Open Golf Championship, ending a 60-year coverage relationship.
I don't play Golf or watch it much but I respect it's traditions and importance in the world as a sport, and with that in mind surely it needs as many people watching it as possible? They won't get that if Sky shows it, not everyone has a subscription… but pretty much everyone has a TV Licence. The Beeb also has Peter Alliss, his Golf commentary is legendary (and it's very relaxing to listen to).
Clearly, the people running The Open are only interested in the money… oh well, another one lost to free-to-air TV.
